Telangana High Court Cuts HYDRAA Costs to Rs 10,000
The Telangana High Court in Hyderabad decided to lower the money penalty that a single judge had put on a group called HYDRAA.
HYDRAA had not answered some legal papers about people being evicted from their homes.
The judge had said they would have to pay Rs 50,000 if they wanted to respond, but the court said they only need to pay Rs 10,000 now.
The court made this change because the legal papers had been waiting for more than a year and were delayed many times.
The decision was made by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin.
Telangana High Court division bench reduced costs imposed on HYDRAA from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10,000 per case.
HYDRAA had failed to file counter affidavits in three writ petitions challenging eviction and demolition actions.
The reduction followed a single judge’s order that imposed costs as a condition for allowing HYDRAA to file counters.
The writ petitions had been pending for over a year and were adjourned multiple times.
The division bench comprised Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin.
