Jio Platforms Wins SEBI Approval for Potential Record IPO

Jio Platforms Wins SEBI Approval for Potential Record IPO

Jio Platforms, which runs Reliance’s digital and telecom businesses, has received an important approval for an IPO.

An IPO is when a company offers some of its shares to the public.

The approval came from India’s market regulator, SEBI, on August 28, 2026.

Jio could raise about $3.8 billion to $4 billion through the share sale.

This could make it one of India’s largest IPOs, and possibly the largest.

The company plans to sell up to 27 crore new shares.

Most of the money would be used to repay loans held by its telecom subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm.

The company has not yet announced the share price or the dates when investors can buy the shares.
