Modi Highlights India’s BRICS Presidency at Summit Closing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the closing session of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.

He said India’s work as chair focused on four ideas: resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability.

Resilience means being ready for problems such as pandemics, disasters and supply-chain disruptions.

BRICS countries agreed on an early warning system for infectious diseases.

They also created guidelines for sharing early-warning data during disasters.

A logistics framework is intended to make supply chains more dependable.

New programs will connect startups and support farmers using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

Modi said technology should be used inclusively and not turned into a weapon.

He also said entrepreneurs, farmers, researchers, women, young people and ordinary citizens should participate in BRICS cooperation.
