Kalyan-Badlapur Rail Corridor Set for Two Additional Lines

Kalyan and Badlapur will get two new railway lines.

These will be called the third and fourth lines.

The project will cost ₹1,510 crore and cover 14.60 kilometres.

It will also build bridges, road crossings, and improvements at five stations.

The current two lines carry more trains than their stated capacity.

The new lines should create more room for suburban, express, and goods trains.

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation has invited bids for ₹133.18 crore of remaining work.

That work is expected to take 365 days.
