Warring's RSS jibe at Channi camp fuels Punjab Congress crisis

A big political party in India called the Congress is having a fight inside its own family in the state of Punjab.

The leader of the party in Punjab, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, was at a meeting in a city called Ludhiana.

Some party workers at the meeting were upset and shouted slogans for another leader, Charanjit Singh Channi, who used to be the chief minister.

Warring got angry and called the shouting workers "RSS agents", which is like saying they secretly work for a different political group.

Many workers felt very hurt because they said they are loyal Congress members and even helped Warring win an election before.

One leader named Bharat Bhushan Ashu said he never even met anyone from the RSS or the BJP, another political party.

Warring said he only meant that about 10 to 12 outsiders at the meeting, not about his own workers.

Leaders from the RSS and BJP criticized Warring too, and the BJP even joked that his workers are welcome to join them.

So a meeting that was supposed to make the party stronger ended up making the fight between the leaders even bigger.
