Trump Revives Plan to Label Muslim Brotherhood as Terrorists
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said he plans to label the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group.
This is something he has considered before but never officially did.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a big group with different parts in many countries, making it hard to label the whole group as terrorists.
Some countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia already consider them terrorists.
Meanwhile, the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, has also said the Muslim Brotherhood and a big Muslim rights group called CAIR are terrorist organizations.
This has upset many people, and CAIR has sued Abbott, saying his decision is unfair and against the law.
Donald Trump announced plans to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a decentralized group with branches in multiple countries, making a blanket terrorist designation challenging.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations, sparking legal action from CAIR.
Several Middle Eastern and North African countries have already designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.
CAIR filed a federal lawsuit against Abbott, arguing that the designation is unconstitutional and defamatory.
