Haryana Farmers End Protest After Paddy Procurement Agreement

Haryana Farmers End Protest After Paddy Procurement Agreement

Farmers in Haryana wanted the government to start buying their paddy at official centers.

They held a protest near the Barara highway.

The district administration agreed to start weighing the paddy on Thursday.

It also said farmers would receive gate passes from September 25.

Some paddy was already stored at a market, so officials agreed to verify those farmers using biometrics.

This means the farmers would not have to move their paddy again.

The farmers accepted the plan and ended their protest.

Earlier, police had used water cannons and tear gas to clear a road blocked by protesters.
