Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Postpones Bengaluru Visit Over Cauvery Tensions
The leaders of two Indian states, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, were planning a meeting about water sharing.
The Tamil Nadu leader, Joseph Vijay, was supposed to visit Bengaluru on August 3.
But because people were upset about water from the Cauvery river, the Karnataka leader, D K Shivakumar, asked him to wait.
Vijay agreed.
The leaders said they want a calm meeting and that they respect each other.
The postponement should help keep peace in both states.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay agreed to postpone his August 3 visit to Bengaluru after a request from Karnataka CM D K Shivakumar.

Shivakumar said he wanted the meeting to take place in a "better and more cordial atmosphere" and praised Vijay as a courageous leader.
The decision was welcomed by Shivakumar, who said the gesture would help maintain a cordial atmosphere between the two states.
