AP Government Approves Controversial TTD Land Swap

AP Government Approves Controversial TTD Land Swap

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a land swap where 20 acres of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) land near Alipiri will be exchanged for 20 acres of Tourism department land at Peruru.

This swap is meant to allow the Oberoi Group to build a luxury resort.

However, the opposition YSR Congress Party is criticizing the decision, claiming that the TTD land is worth much more than the land it's being exchanged for.

They also argue that the swap goes against the rules that protect temple properties.

The government has given the project additional benefits, like waiving certain fees, which critics say is unnecessary.

Some people are also concerned because the original project was previously rejected due to its name being controversial.

The government canceled that project and then approved this new one after the name was changed.
