Chennai Water Supply Halted on May 24-25 for Pipeline Work
Some areas in Chennai won't have water for drinking on May 24 and 25.
This is because of construction work being done on the water pipes by the Metro Rail company.
This work will affect several neighborhoods in North and Central Chennai.
People are asked to save water for these days, and they can request water trucks if needed.
Areas that don't have water lines or have low water pressure will also get water from tankers.
Drinking water supply will be suspended in several areas of North and Central Chennai.
The interruption is due to pipeline interconnection work by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
Work will take place at Purasawalkam High Road in Anna Nagar zone.
Affected areas include Tondiarpet, Purasawalkam, Periamedu, Egmore, and others.
Residents are advised to store water; tankers will be available for emergencies.
