Vapi Authorities Target Illegal Scrap Yards After Fire
Imagine there were a lot of messy, dangerous junk yards in a town called Vapi.
These yards were not following the rules and had a big fire.
Because of the fire, the local government, the VMC, is cracking down.
They are making sure the junk yards are safe and follow the rules.
The VMC found over 500 illegal junk yards.
So far, they have shut down or demolished around 100 of them.
They're also taking legal action against some people who ran these yards.
The yards were collecting things like plastic and chemicals that can easily catch fire, and they were polluting the environment.
The government is doing this to protect the people and the environment.
Vapi Municipal Corporation (VMC) is cracking down on illegal scrap yards.
Over 500 unauthorized scrapyards were identified within VMC limits.
Approximately 50 scrapyards have been demolished and another 50 have shut down.
Police filed FIRs against eight people related to the illegal operations.
