Surat Man Held Over Jamtara-Linked APK Cyber Fraud Proceeds
Police in Surat arrested a man accused of helping move money from a cyber fraud.
The alleged fraud began when a victim installed a harmful APK file on a mobile phone.
The file reportedly let criminals read sensitive information and obtain banking OTPs.
Police said about eight transactions took Rs 6,31,414.68 from the victim’s account.
Some of the money was used through two credit cards linked to the arrested man.
He allegedly kept 10% of the amount as payment.
The rest was reportedly sent to another accused connected to a Jamtara-based network.
Police are still trying to find the main accused and advise people not to install APK files from unknown sources.
