Ghansoli Senior Citizens' Association Likely To Get CIDCO Concessional Plot
In Ghansoli, a neighbourhood in Navi Mumbai, there is a club for older people called the Ghansoli Senior Citizens' Association.
Right now, the club has to rent halls whenever it wants to hold meetings, parties, or cultural events.
For a long time, the members have asked for a place to call their own.
Good news may be coming soon.
The city development agency, CIDCO, is likely to give the club a plot of land at a special low price.
The club's president, Ramesh Patil, used to be an MLA, which is like a local lawmaker.
He has been working hard to convince CIDCO and the state government to help.
He hopes the club will get the plot in the next few months.
The news was shared at a happy celebration where older members who had birthdays that year were wished together.
The Ghansoli Senior Citizens' Association is likely to get a dedicated plot from CIDCO at a concessional rate.
Association president and former MLA Ramesh Patil has been pursuing the matter with CIDCO and the state government.
Patil expressed hope that the plot would be secured in the coming months.
The association currently depends on rented halls for its social and cultural activities after growing substantially over the past 15-20 years.
The update was shared at the association's anniversary and collective birthday celebration at the Shri Devasthan Sanstha hall in Ghansoli village.
