Srijit Mukherji Responds to Dev's Show Allocation Claims
There's a big argument in the Bengali film industry.
Actor-producer Dev said his movie, Projapoti 2, didn't get enough showtimes at a theater in South Kolkata, even though its posters were displayed.
He shared a photo of the theater and talked about how some people call him names, but he's still fighting for Bengali cinema.
The next day, filmmaker Srijit Mukherji responded, saying that showtimes are decided by everyone involved and that his movie, Lawho Gouranger Naam Rey, also didn't get many shows.
He hopes all three Bengali movies do well.
This isn't the first time there's been a fight over showtimes.
Earlier this year, during the Durga Puja holidays, there were similar arguments.
The industry has now decided that only three Bengali movies should be released during big holidays to avoid these problems.
Actor-producer Dev claimed Projapoti 2 did not receive shows at a South Kolkata theatre despite posters being displayed.
Dev shared a photo of the cinema hall and expressed his continued fight for Bengali cinema.
Srijit Mukherji responded, stating show allocation was decided through mutual agreement among stakeholders.
Srijit's film, Lawho Gouranger Naam Rey, also received limited shows in South Kolkata.
Similar disputes over hall allocation were witnessed during the Durga Puja release window earlier this year.
