India's Next Infrastructure Priority: Quality, Safety and Lifecycle Performance

India's Next Infrastructure Priority: Quality, Safety and Lifecycle Performance

India is celebrating 80 years of being an independent country.

A very important person in India's building industry, Mr. M. V. Satish, shared his thoughts for the future.

He said India should now build things better, not just bigger.

Roads, bridges, trains, airports and ports should be safe and last a long time.

He reminded everyone about amazing bridges India has already built.

He said we should plan carefully before we start building.

We should also choose builders based on quality, not just the cheapest price.

Smart tools and computers can help, but smart engineers are still very important.

We should take care of buildings so they last for many, many years.

If something goes wrong, we should learn from it so it doesn't happen again.
