Nashik Citizens Urged To Use Artificial Tanks For Idol Immersion

Nashik Citizens Urged To Use Artificial Tanks For Idol Immersion

After the Ganesh festival, many people immerse idols in rivers.

Some idols are made from Plaster of Paris, or POP.

POP does not dissolve easily and can remain in the water for years.

This can harm rivers and the animals living in them.

River water is also used for drinking and farming.

Creative Kuteer is asking people to use artificial tanks instead.

It says Shadu clay idols can be immersed at home in a bucket or tank.

The group wants future celebrations to use materials that dissolve naturally and protect nature.
