ED Alleges KPSC Officials Leaked Veterinary Exam Answer Keys
The Enforcement Directorate is investigating alleged cheating in an exam to hire veterinary doctors in Karnataka.
It says two senior officials at the Karnataka Public Service Commission shared answers with some candidates before the test.
The agency alleges the officials received advance payments in return.
The answer keys reportedly covered 80 of the exam’s 100 questions.
The ED says six candidates got access to them, including people who placed first, third, eighth, ninth, 11th and 12th.
The officials allegedly obtained the keys from the commission’s controller of exams.
A court said the allegations appeared to have initial support and allowed investigators to keep the two officials in custody until October 19.
The investigation is continuing, and the allegations have not been established as proven facts.
The Enforcement Directorate alleges suspended KPSC chairman Shivashankarappa Sahukar and member B V Geetha leaked answer keys for a veterinary doctors recruitment exam.
According to the ED, Sahukar received a Rs 10 lakh advance linked to the third-rank candidate, while Geetha received a Rs 20 lakh advance linked to the first-rank candidate.
The agency said the answer keys for 80 of the exam’s 100 questions were obtained from KPSC Controller of Exams Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar.

A special court said the allegations were prima facie supported and remanded Sahukar and Geetha to ED custody until October 19.

ED counsel who presented the agency’s findings in court
“Only 80 answers (For 100 questions) were given, and the candidates were asked to memorise them. This is why these candidates have all got the same answers wrong in the exam.”

“In the case of the previous arrests, it was the questions that were leaked. Here, in this case, it is the answer keys.”
