NIA Court Lets Mumbai Police Reclaim Toyota Innova
A special court decided that the Mumbai Police can get back a Toyota Innova that was taken by the NIA in 2021.
The car was used by a former police officer named Sachin Waze in a bomb scare case near Antilia.
The NIA had the car in its parking lot for years, and the court said it was losing its usefulness.
The police must give a bond of 5 lakh rupees and cannot change the car’s identity.
Now the police can use the car again, but they have to follow the court’s rules.
Special NIA Court allowed Mumbai Police to reclaim a Toyota Innova seized in 2021.
The vehicle was used by dismissed officer Sachin Waze in the Antilia bomb scare investigation.
The car had been idle in the NIA parking compound, risking loss of value.
Police must post a Rs 5,00,000 indemnity bond and cannot alter the vehicle’s identity.
The court’s decision was made on July 31, 2026.
