Uttarakhand exam lapses: ED seizes Rs 1.28 crore assets of ex-CM Harish Rawat’s aide · thehansindia.com

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating alleged cheating in a 2016 Uttarakhand government recruitment exam.

Investigators searched several people’s homes and offices.

One search involved Chandan Singh Jeena, who works with former Chief Minister Harish Singh Rawat.

The ED says it found cash, gold and expensive watches at Jeena’s home.

The seized items were valued at about Rs 1.28 crore, although the watches are still being valued.

Jeena’s bank accounts and those of his family members were also frozen.

Investigators allege that exam answer sheets were secretly taken out and changed.

They say the changes were made to help candidates in return for illegal payments.
