Balaji remains in Davis Cup reckoning
N Sriram Balaji, a doubles specialist, was left out of India's Davis Cup squad for the upcoming tie against the Netherlands.
The team's captain, Rohit Rajpal, explained that this decision was based on the need for a deuce-court specialist.
Balaji, however, remains a core member of the team and could be considered for the next tie.
Meanwhile, reserve player Aryan Shah has pulled out of the tie, which has upset the All India Tennis Association (AITA).
The AITA may not look for a replacement as there are other reserve players available.
