India to Boost Insurance Sector with 100% FDI
The government is planning to let foreign companies own up to 100% of insurance businesses in India.
This should bring in more money, allow insurance to grow faster, and make it easier for foreign companies to invest.
They are also running campaigns to encourage more people to sign up for insurance plans.
FDI limit in the insurance sector is proposed to be raised to 100%.
This will allow the sector to grow at 7.1% annually in the next 5 years.
The increase eliminates the need for foreign investors to find Indian partners.
The move aims to attract foreign investment and increase competition.
Campaigns are underway to increase enrolment in insurance schemes.
