Modi Urges Citizens to Build Drug-Free India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked people across India to help stop drug abuse.
He said the goal is to protect young people and create a drug-free country.
The government campaign teaches people about the dangers of drugs and encourages communities to help.
It also includes treatment, rehabilitation and support for people recovering from substance abuse.
Modi also talked about a program for street vendors called PM SVANidhi.
The program helps vendors restart and expand their businesses.
He said nearly half of its beneficiaries are women, including about 35 lakh women.
The program began in June 2020 and will continue until March 2030.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to join the nationwide effort against drug abuse.
He said the “Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India” campaign seeks drug-free young people and a drug-free India.
