China Plans Asteroid Impact Mission by 2030
China wants to send a spacecraft to hit an asteroid really fast, more than 9 kilometers per second.
This is even faster than a similar mission NASA did.
They want to do this to show that they can protect Earth from asteroids.
The plan is to do this before 2030.
Scientists are still checking the details in a report.
China plans to impact an asteroid with a spacecraft before 2030.
The mission aims to demonstrate planetary defense capabilities.
The spacecraft will strike the asteroid at more than 9 km/s.
This speed is faster than NASA’s DART mission.
The research paper is under peer review for the Journal of Deep Space Exploration.
