NEET PG 2025 Counselling Updates
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that postgraduate medical students who got seats in the first two rounds of NEET PG 2025 counselling can give up their seats.
They have to do this in person at their college and online through the MCC website between January 12 and January 15, 2026.
If they do this, they will lose their security deposit.
The empty seats will then be available in the third round of counselling.
The MCC also said that the schedule for the third round will be announced only after the government approves new rules about who can join the counselling.
Additionally, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has lowered the minimum qualifying percentiles for candidates participating in the third round of counseling for the 2025-26 academic session.
The revised qualifying percentiles for NEET-PG 2025 are now 0 percentile for reserved categories.
Candidates' eligibility will be verified through MBBS/FMGE aggregate marks, Face ID, or biometric checks at the time of admission.
MCC allows resignation from Round 1 and 2 seats for NEET PG 2025 counselling.
Resignations must be submitted between January 12 and January 15, 2026, with forfeiture of security deposit.
Candidates must physically report to the allotted college and generate the resignation letter online.
Vacated seats will be added to the seat matrix for Round 3 counselling.
