Police stopped a car traveling from Vadodara toward Mumbai after receiving information about drugs being transported.

They found 977 grams of mephedrone, also called MD, inside the vehicle.

The drugs were estimated to be worth about ₹30 lakh.

The two people arrested were Mansi Sayed, a former Malaysia Airlines cabin crew member, and Sohail Suleman Shaikh.

Police said they had rented the car in Mumbai and collected the drugs from an unidentified woman near Vadodara railway station.

The drugs were allegedly going to be divided into smaller packets for sale in Mumbai.

Police also found mobile phones, plastic bags, and containers in the car.

Investigators said Sayed had been connected to drug networks since 2015 and had been arrested in Indore in 2021.
