Australia Updates Student Visa Rules
The Australian government has updated its rules for student visas.
This change, called Ministerial Direction 115, helps manage the number of international students in different areas of Australia.
To study in Australia, students need to get admitted to a course, receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), and apply for a Student Visa (Subclass 500).
This visa allows them to stay in Australia for up to six years, work part-time, and travel in and out of the country.
They must show they have enough money, health insurance, and good English skills.
After finishing their studies, they can apply for a post-study work visa.
There are many top universities in Australia, and this process helps students from all over the world, including India, to study and work there.
The Australian government updated Ministerial Direction 115 to align with the 2026 National Planning Level.
International students need a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) to apply for a Student Visa (Subclass 500).
The visa allows students to stay in Australia for up to six years and work up to 48 hours per fortnight.
Applicants must demonstrate financial capacity, health insurance, and English proficiency.
After completing studies, graduates can apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) for post-study work opportunities.
