Heavy Rain in Telangana Reduces 30% Deficit, Officials Urge Alert
Heavy rain in Telangana has helped the state catch up on the water it was missing.
The rain also filled up big water tanks on the Krishna and Godavari rivers.
The state’s planning group says most districts now have enough rain, but some still need help.
The revenue minister told officials to stay ready because the weather could get worse.
He also said the city should keep power, water, and traffic running smoothly.
Heavy rains in Telangana have cut the state's 30% rainfall deficit to about 11%.
Significant inflows into Krishna and Godavari reservoirs in Maharashtra and Karnataka have boosted Telangana's water reserves.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy urged officials to stay alert amid IMD red and orange alerts in several districts.
The Telangana State Planning Development Society reports 21 of 33 districts now have normal rainfall, with 12 still in red.
Measures are being coordinated to prevent power, water, and traffic disruptions in Hyderabad.
