Delhi to Upgrade High-Footfall Liquor Vends
The Delhi government wants to make some of its liquor shops better.
These shops are in busy places like near malls and markets.
They will get new, nice interiors and air conditioning.
The government also wants to make sure all brands are treated equally.
They are also working on a new rule book for liquor shops.
Some shops have already been chosen for this makeover.
The government is taking ideas from people before making the final rules.
Delhi government plans to renovate high-footfall liquor vends with modern interiors and AC.
Four corporations (DSIIDC, DTTDC, DSCSC, DCCWS) operate over 700 liquor outlets in Delhi.
DSCSC has shortlisted 10 vends for renovation and is seeking an architecture firm and project management consultant.
Renovations will include modern interiors, distinct billing counters, and brand-neutral shelves.
A new excise policy is in the works, with the draft proposal expected to be public in the new year.
