BRS Calls Statewide Protests After Leaders Barred From Assembly

The BRS is an opposition party in Telangana.

Its leaders went to the Assembly wearing black T-shirts to protest the Congress government.

Police stopped them from entering because of the protest clothing and slogans.

Some leaders argued with security personnel, and several were detained.

The BRS said some leaders, including K. T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao, G. Jagadish Reddy and V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, suffered minor injuries in the clash.

K. T. Rama Rao accused Congress of not keeping its promises to voters.

He said Congress had made 420 promises that were supposed to be completed within 100 days.

The BRS now wants protests across Telangana and plans to question the government inside the Assembly.
