Dell Bets on Cheaper XPS While Preserving Quality

Dell is considering a less expensive version of its XPS laptop.

Chris Cowger said people are still learning what AI computers can do.

Many buyers may not have a specific AI use in mind yet.

They still like having the option available for the future.

The computer’s special AI chip can also improve things people already want.

One example is longer battery life in the XPS 13.

Cowger said people buy a laptop for practical benefits, not simply because it has an AI chip.

He added that Dell does not want to give up good screens or careful construction.
