CJP Criticises Modi’s Paper‑Leak Bill as Punitive
India’s government passed a new law to stop people from stealing exam papers.
The law says that if someone leaks a paper, they can be put in jail for up to 10 years and fined a lot of money.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, made a video on Instagram to explain the law and said it will help keep exams fair.
A man named Abhijeet Dipke, who leads a protest group, said the law only punishes people after the leak and that the government should stop leaks from happening in the first place.
Dipke also joked that Modi should quit politics and become a social media influencer.
Modi’s video got over 63 million views, but Dipke’s comments made many people laugh and think about how the law works.
India’s Parliament passed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
The bill creates fast‑track courts, increases prison terms to 5–10 years, and allows fines up to Rs 50 lakh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a selfie‑style video praising the law and warning against paper leaks.
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, criticized the bill as overly punitive and urged prevention measures.
Dipke also suggested Modi should leave politics and become a full‑time influencer.
