Telangana’s state legislature will hold its monsoon meeting starting Monday.

The ruling Congress party and opposition parties are already arguing strongly outside the legislature.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Bharatiya Janata Party may work together inside the House, but they might also act separately.

Both parties want the government to explain why some election promises and welfare programmes have not been fully carried out.

They are also raising concerns about farmers, jobs, student fee payments and water supplies.

The BJP is expected to focus especially on unpaid fee reimbursement funds.

Other topics may include fertiliser shortages, farm-loan waivers and delayed housing payments.

The government plans to respond by describing its welfare, development, investment and irrigation work.
