Karnataka Food Safety Officials Inspect Facilities After Egg Complaint

Food safety officers checked a store in Mangaluru after someone reported worms in eggs bought online.

They found packets with broken eggs and told workers to throw away the affected stock.

The store’s storage room was sealed so it could be cleaned and sanitised.

Officials are sending the store a notice and asking what happened.

In a separate inspection in Bengaluru, another kitchen was found to have many serious food safety problems.

Inspectors seized 40 kilograms of expired chilli.

They also found poor hygiene, incorrect labels, unsafe colours, and food stored improperly.

The authorities said they will keep inspecting businesses and may take strong legal action.
