NPCI to Segregate UPI Settlement Cycles, Extends Paytm Deadline
NPCI, which handles UPI payments, is making some changes to how transactions are settled.
They are splitting the payment process into two parts: one for regular payments and another for disputed transactions.
This will speed things up.
They've also given users and merchants more time to switch from the old Paytm UPI handles, now extending the deadline to October 31, 2025, so recurring payments like subscriptions aren't interrupted.
This is done to keep everything running smoothly.
NPCI is segregating UPI settlement cycles for authorized and dispute transactions.
Authorized transactions will be processed in ten daily cycles.
Dispute-related settlements will be processed twice daily.
The changes aim to facilitate the completion of the daily settlement process.
The deadline to stop autopay mandates on old Paytm UPI handles is extended to October 31, 2025.
