Kerala Launches Project Zero to Combat Corruption
Kerala’s government has started a new program called Project Zero to fight corruption.
It asks people, especially students, to report bad behavior by officials.
The program gives a special phone number, 1064, where people can call anonymously.
Students become “Vigilance Commandos” and learn how to spot corruption.
The launch was led by the state’s minister and a popular actor, and it aims to make honesty the best choice for everyone.
Project Zero is a Kerala government anti‑corruption campaign launched by Minister Ramesh Chennithala.
The initiative invites citizens, especially students, to report corruption via toll‑free 1064 or the state website.
Youth are recruited as “Vigilance Commandos” to raise awareness and pressure officials in their communities.
The launch event was held at Loyola School Auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram, with actor Nivin Pauly as the first commando.
Officials who accept bribes will have their files reopened for review, and honest officers will be rewarded.
