WB TMC Accused of Lapse in Tabling CAG Reports

The Finance Minister of West Bengal, Swapan Dasgupta, recently placed 28 volumes of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the state Assembly.

These reports were not presented in the past few years, which the minister called a constitutional lapse.

The reports cover the period from 2021 to 2025 when the previous Trinamool Congress government was in power.

The minister wants to hold a special session to discuss these reports, as they reveal the reasons behind West Bengal's huge debt of over Rs 8 lakh crore.

He believes it is important to show the government's mistakes to the people through these reports.

The opposition has criticized the previous government for not presenting these reports earlier and has demanded action based on the audit findings.
