India Deploys Mobile Indrajaal Ranger for Counter-Drone Security
India is buying mobile vehicles that can help stop dangerous drones.
The vehicle is called the Indrajaal Ranger.
Unlike systems fixed in one place, it can travel with security teams.
It may be used near borders, during VVIP movements and in cities.
The vehicle can find and follow suspicious drones.
It can also take control of some drones, create a protected airspace boundary or catch a drone with a net.
One order is worth Rs 145 crore for border security.
Another order is worth about Rs 10 crore from an urban police force.
The companies say this shows that counter-drone protection is becoming part of everyday security.
The Indrajaal-Sigma consortium received a Rs 145 crore border-security contract for mobile anti-drone systems.
An urban police force placed a separate order worth approximately Rs 10 crore for VVIP protection and urban security.
The Indrajaal Ranger is designed to detect, track, identify and counter rogue drones while moving.
Its three protection layers are Retractor, Lakshman Rekha and Net Interceptor.
The orders reflect a shift toward using counter-drone systems across borders, cities, public events and critical infrastructure.
