Gold Prices Fall for Second Week Amidst Dollar Strength and Easing Tensions
Gold, often seen as a safe place to store wealth, has seen its price drop for two weeks in a row.
This is because people are feeling less worried about global problems, and the U.S. dollar has become stronger, making gold more expensive for those using other currencies.
The U.S. central bank also hinted that they might not lower interest rates as much as expected, which is not ideal for gold.
Many people who bought gold earlier decided to sell it to make a profit, adding to the price drop.
Silver, on the other hand, had a tough couple of weeks but managed to recover a bit.
Despite the recent fall, some experts believe that long-term factors like countries wanting to hold less U.S. dollars and increasing U.S. debt could make gold valuable again in the future.
Gold prices declined for the second consecutive week due to improved global risk appetite and a strengthening US dollar.
Easing geopolitical tensions and profit-booking also contributed to the fall in gold prices.
US Federal Reserve's cautious stance on further rate cuts dampened demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.
MCX gold futures dropped by 1.8% over the week, hitting an intra-day low of Rs 1,17,628 per 10 grams.
Silver futures on MCX rose by 0.55% towards the end of the week, recovering from a previous two-week decline.

Market Analysts
Underlying Drivers for Gold
Short-term Price Movement
Market Analysts
Gold prices are declining due to profit-booking, easing geopolitical tensions (Russia-Ukraine, Trump-Xi talks), a hawkish Fed on rates, and the end of India's festival buying season.
Underlying Drivers for Gold
Factors like shifts in monetary policy, rising US debt, central bank diversification away from the dollar, and persistent inflation are considered long-term bullish drivers for gold.
Safe-Haven Appeal
Market Analysts
A stronger US dollar and reduced geopolitical risks have lessened the immediate need for gold as a safe-haven asset.
Underlying Drivers for Gold
Weakening US fundamentals, including ballooning federal debt and fiscal deficits, alongside Western sanctions encouraging central banks to diversify away from the dollar, reinforce gold's role as a safe-haven.
