Uttar Pradesh: Man Arrested for Triple Talaq and Halala Exploitation
In Uttar Pradesh, a woman was married off at 15.
Her husband, Azhar Nawaz, gave her triple talaq twice, in 2016 and 2021.
After the second talaq, she lived separately with her child.
In 2025, her husband's family wanted her back but said she had to go through halala twice because she had been divorced twice.
Halala means she had to marry another man, have sex, and then divorce before she could marry Azhar again.
She was forced to have sex with multiple men, which she later realized was sexual exploitation.
She reported it to the police, and Azhar was arrested.
The police are investigating and might add more names to the case.
The woman's family has a strong background, with her grandfather being a DSP and her father a lawyer.
