Former CDS Details Operation Sindoor Ceasefire and Pakistan Gaps

India and Pakistan stopped fighting during Operation Sindoor after their military officers spoke directly.

General Anil Chauhan said the two countries’ Directors General of Military Operations made the agreement.

He said no outside country helped arrange the ceasefire.

This differs from former US President Donald Trump’s claim that American pressure forced the halt.

Chauhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi allowed the military to choose when to act.

Modi also wanted the military to avoid mistakes and provide proof of what it did.

Chauhan said Pakistan had incorrect information about where Indian naval forces were located.

Operation Sindoor started after a terror attack in Pahalgam killed 26 people.

The fighting was paused on May 10, 2025, after military contact between India and Pakistan.
