5 Crucial Precautions Before Selling Your Used Car
When you sell your used car, it's like moving out of a house; you need to make sure you haven't left anything important behind!
First, clean out all your personal stuff from the car's computer, like phone contacts or saved music profiles.
Also, remove any special tags or trackers you put on it.
Next, write down exactly who you're selling it to, the car's details, and the price, and both of you should sign it – like a receipt.
Then, make sure all the official papers are being transferred to the new owner, so the car isn't legally yours anymore.
You also have to pay any unpaid tickets or fees on the car and make sure it has a valid 'pollution pass' certificate.
In some places, like Delhi, older cars can't be sold, so you might have to get rid of them properly instead.
Remove all personal data and profiles from the car's infotainment system and connected apps.
Draft and keep a signed sale agreement detailing the transaction and parties involved.
Complete the Registration Certificate (RC) transfer process using RTO Forms 29/30 with KYC verification.
Clear all outstanding dues, penalties, and challans associated with the vehicle.
Ensure the vehicle possesses a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate before RC transfer.
