Saudi Arabia Unveils Sci-Fi-Inspired Exobot Electric Flagships
Saudi Arabia has introduced two large electric vehicles called the Exobot sedan and SUV.
They are made by a new company called Ceer, which aims to build cars in Saudi Arabia.
The vehicles have unusual doors that open upward and very powerful motors.
Ceer says they can travel hundreds of kilometres on one charge.
Their batteries can be charged quickly, according to the company.
The cabins have large screens and special features to help cool them in hot weather.
Ceer is working with several international companies on the cars.
Production is planned in Saudi Arabia, and sales there are expected to start in 2027.
The company has not yet announced prices.
Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s first automaker, unveiled the Exobot sedan and SUV as part of the Kingdom’s effort to build a domestic auto industry.
The vehicles were designed under former McLaren design chief Robert Melville and feature upward-opening “Shahin Wing” doors.
Initial First Edition models are planned with three motors producing 850 bhp and 1,000 Nm; later versions are promised with up to 1,111 bhp.
Both models use a 112 kWh battery and 800-volt architecture, with claimed ranges of 670 km for the sedan and 560 km for the SUV under the NEDC cycle.
Production is planned at King Abdullah Economic City, with Saudi sales expected to begin in early 2027; prices have not been announced.
