Retired Policeman Loses ₹19 Lakh in Fake NIA Scam

A retired police officer received calls from people pretending to be government and police officials.

They falsely said that a SIM card in his name had been used for crimes.

They also claimed he was connected to a terrorist organisation.

The callers threatened to arrest him and sent him fake documents.

They told him to transfer money to help with the supposed case.

The man sent ₹19 lakh in two online transactions.

Later, a friend told him that he had likely been cheated.

He then reported the incident to the police, who registered a case.
