BAT to Sell ITC Hotels Stake
British American Tobacco (BAT) is selling part of its stake in ITC Hotels.
They own 15.3% of the company and plan to sell between 7% and 15.3% of their shares.
The sale will happen on Friday, and the shares will be sold at a price of Rs 205.65 each, which is a little less than the price on Thursday.
BAT says they are selling because this stake is not important for their business plans.
The money from the sale will help them pay off some of their debts.
This is the third time in two years that BAT has sold some of its shares in ITC companies.
BAT plans to sell 7-15.3% of its 15.3% stake in ITC Hotels via block deals.
The sale will happen on Friday with a floor price of Rs 205.65 per share, a 1% discount to Thursday's closing price.
The value of the stake sale is estimated to be around Rs 3,000 crore for 7%.
BAT affiliates Tobacco Manufacturers (India), Myddleton Investment, and Rothmans International Enterprises will offload the shares.
BAT CEO Tadeu Marroco stated that the stake is not strategic and the proceeds will support their 2026 deleveraging plan.
