DIIs Pump Record ₹3.60 Lakh Crore into Indian Stock Market in H1 2025
In the first half of 2025, Indian investors (DIIs), like mutual funds, put a record amount of money, ₹3.60 lakh crore, into the Indian stock market.
This is almost twice what they invested the previous year.
Meanwhile, foreign investors (FPIs) took out money.
This shift is partly because more regular people are choosing to invest in the stock market.
This trend is helping the market grow and is making the Indian market one of the biggest in the world.
This strong inflow has even caused some fund managers to pause investments because there weren't enough good places to invest.
Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) invested a record ₹3.60 lakh crore in the Indian stock market in H1 2025.
This inflow represents 68% of the full-year 2024 inflow and nearly doubled the H1 2023 figure.
Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) withdrew ₹1.3 lakh crore from the Indian market in H1 2025.
DII ownership in the Indian market reached a record high of 19.2% in March 2025.
Retail investor participation is driving DII inflows, supporting market growth.
