Andhra Pradesh Assembly Set for Mega DSC vs Group-I Showdown
In a place called Andhra Pradesh, there is a big argument about how teachers and government workers get hired.
Two political teams called YSRCP and TDP are blaming each other.
The YSRCP team says the new teacher hiring, called Mega DSC-2025, was not fair.
They want the minister in charge of education to quit and want a special police agency called the CBI to investigate.
The TDP team, which runs the government, says the YSRCP is wrong and is only playing politics.
TDP is pointing to an older hiring process, called Group-I, where investigators found answer sheets that were changed and signatures that were fake.
A court said it would not start its own big investigation because hundreds of job seekers had already asked the court for help.
Both teams are having this fight during a meeting of state lawmakers called the assembly session.
Meanwhile, thousands of people are waiting for jobs and just want the hiring to be fair.
The Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment controversy is set to dominate the Andhra Pradesh Legislature session, with the YSRCP attacking the government and the ruling TDP countering with APPSC Group-I allegations.
YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded the resignation of HRD minister Nara Lokesh and a CBI probe, after 74 days of protests including relay hunger strikes.
The YSRCP alleges irregularities in recruitment to 16,347 teacher posts, including the selection of outsourced SCERT employee Purama Naveen among top-ranked candidates and forged sports certificates under the 3% sports reservation.
The government's SIT report alleges that in the Group-I recruitment, digital evaluation was authorized without the chairman's approval, answer sheets were moved to Haailand Resorts for 84 days, and alterations were found in 718 OMR sheets.
The High Court declined to entertain a PIL seeking a CBI probe into Mega DSC, noting that 335 affected candidates had already approached the judiciary individually.
