Delhi's Master Plan 2047 Approved After Five-Year Delay

Delhi's Master Plan 2047 Approved After Five-Year Delay

Delhi is a big city in India, and it needs a plan to help it grow in a good way.

A Master Plan is like a giant map and rulebook that tells the city how to build homes, roads, parks, and offices.

For five years, Delhi did not get a new plan, but on Wednesday the Delhi Development Authority finally approved one, called the Master Plan for Delhi 2047.

Delhi has a problem: cheap homes for families are becoming very rare, while very expensive homes are being built a lot.

Many people also live in houses built without permission on the edges of the city.

The new plan will try to make it easier to build homes, including near Metro train lines with a new transit policy.

It will also talk about what to do with land near the Yamuna River, where a court has said people cannot legally build homes.

The government has also decided to officially accept 1,511 settlements that were built without permission.

Leaders hope the plan will bring more jobs, less pollution, and a lot of investment to Delhi.

In simple words, it is a new set of rules to make Delhi a cleaner, greener, and fairer place to live.
