Dubai Job Crisis Hits Migrant Workers
Many people from other countries work in Dubai to support their families back home.
But because of a war between the US, Israel, and Iran, Dubai's economy is having a hard time.
Tourists are not visiting as much, and businesses are struggling.
This means many workers have lost their jobs or are earning less money.
The government says this is temporary and has given money to help businesses.
But for workers, the situation is tough, and they are waiting for things to get better.
The US-Israel war with Iran has slowed Dubai's tourism, aviation, and businesses, leading to job losses and reduced pay for migrant workers.
Many workers, including domestic workers, accountants, saleswomen, and welders, are struggling to find new jobs or are earning less due to the conflict.
The UAE government has provided over $680 million in support packages to help businesses, but workers continue to face significant challenges.
A ManpowerGroup survey found that one in four UAE employers plans to cut jobs in the third quarter of 2026, and nearly a third have no hiring plans.
Renewed strikes between the US and Iran have kept uncertainty high, making it difficult for workers to plan for the future.
