AAP's Bharadwaj Alleges ₹22,000 Crore Delhi Rice Scam Plan

AAP's Bharadwaj Alleges ₹22,000 Crore Delhi Rice Scam Plan

A man named Saurabh Bharadwaj, who leads a political group called the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, says some people planned to do something wrong with rice.

The government gives cheap rice to people who do not have much money.

He says the Delhi government and a company from Assam asked for a huge amount of rice every week — about 31,000 tonnes.

That is a really, really big pile of rice!

Bharadwaj says the rice was supposed to go to poor people very cheaply, but was secretly sold to a private company in Haryana for more money instead.

He says the rice was bought for about ₹23 per kilogram, which is a small amount of money, and sold for ₹46 per kilogram.

He thinks this could have been a scam worth about ₹22,000 crore over three years — a gigantic amount of money.

Bharadwaj told everyone about this at a press conference, in a video and on social media, and says the documents will be made public.

Another leader named Manjinder Singh Sirsa is upset and told Bharadwaj to take back his words within 24 hours or face legal action.

But nobody has proven the allegations yet, and the people accused have not replied, so we need to wait for the authorities to check.
