Mathura Dispute: Allahabad High Court Sets Next Hearing for July 4
Imagine a disagreement over a very old building in Mathura.
Some people believe a mosque was built where a temple used to be.
The Allahabad High Court is now looking at this issue.
Many people who want the temple back have filed a number of lawsuits.
They want the mosque removed and the temple rebuilt.
The court has already decided that the lawsuits can continue.
The next time the court will discuss this is on July 4.
They are arguing about whether they should officially call the mosque a ‘disputed structure’.
The court will listen to both sides and decide what to do.
The Allahabad High Court has scheduled the next hearing in the Krishna Janmabhumi-Shahi Eidgah dispute for July 4.
The case concerns the Shahi Eidgah mosque in Mathura, alleged to have been built on the site of a demolished temple.

The Hindu side is seeking possession of land, removal of the Eidgah, temple restoration, and a permanent injunction.
